I started as a messenger boy at 15 at Victoria D.O. The PSM was mister Lamb. In 1964 I spent a short time at South Kensinton on loan. When I was 16 I moved to Battersea D.O. (The PSM was Mr Odell & Derek Minter) For Motorcycle Training the Instructor would take us out, and about Wimbledon Common practising figure of eights in the very narrow lanes no feet down just clutch control. When the time came for my test I had to go toCrown Point Office were the examiner was Mr bremner, there was myself and another mopper luckily we both passed off came the L plates back to the office and bogged by the other lads. I stayed at Battersea for about a year I can recall some, Colin Livet,Geoffrey Hastings,Colin moffet. I wish I could remember them all we had great times together and some not so good bad winters. I finished my time as a mopper at Upper Tooting SDO my best friend there was Frank Richardson after work we would go out on our M/C,s him on his Triiumph 350cc and me on my Norton 350cc. great days. At 18 I became Postman at Tooting Sorting Office. Now living in Barbham near Bognor still ride my Royal Enfield 500cc.
